Title: Tate Modern interior study (A1)
Media: Oil and acrylic paint, 35 mm and digital photos, cardboard, pencil/charcoal, tracing paper and acetate.
Description: When exploring the interior of the Bankside power station, I loved the cold atmosphere of the dimly-lit cellar called ‘The Tanks’ (specifically the oil stained smooth concrete that surrounds you and the vast rows of pillars) – shown in the images on the left side of this A1 sheet. This space was contrasted by the surreal atmosphere of the warm orange Olafur Eliasson exhibition space, thus I wanted to present this juxtaposition on this study page.
