Title: “Undesirable” surface textures

Media/size: Experimental painting – Cardboard, water-based paints, graffiti pen, plaster and chicken wire. Sketchbook – 35 mm photo, plaster, digital photo printed on tracing paper, spray-paint. All mounted on A1 paper.

Description: I’ve become obsessed with unique textures and marks made on walls I observe on the streets/inside buildings such as layered graffiti and weathered concrete. I attempted to recreate similar textures on cardboard to make it appear like degraded concrete behind a torn wire fence. I used plaster to create similar textures to those in top left photos.
